ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Welcome to WebExplore Organizer V.01.04.03 ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
What is WebExplorer Organizer for OS/2(WebXOrg for short)? Have you ever
wanted a way to organize that growing list of Quicklist entries for WebExplorer
or NetScape/2? If so then WebXOrg is for you. WebXOrg gives you an easy to use
interface to quickly organize your collection of WebExplorer and NetScape/2
Quicklist entries.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. To Install WebExplorer Organizer ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To install WebXOrg unzip the webxorg.zip file into a temp directory. Then run
the install program. This will create the following directory structure:
..\webxorg.exe The program itself
..\webxorg.hlp The program's help file
..\webxorg.inf The program's documentation
..\webxorg.ico The program's icon file
..\pages\ Directory to hold built pages
..\icons\ Directory to hold icons used by the program
..\icons\folder.ico Folder icon
..\icons\webx.ico WebExplorer icon
..\pics\ Directory to holg graphic files used by the program
..\pics\folder.gif Folder gif used by the webpages
..\pics\webx.gif World gif used by the webpages
Then delete the install program and icon from the temp directory.
WebXOrg requires that you have a copy of VROBJ.DLL version 2.1D in your
libpath to run. The easiest place to place it would be in your ..\os2\dll\
directory. If you do not have a copy you can get it at our WebPage( see To
get the newest version ).
You are now ready to run WebXOrg by double-clicking on the program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. The WebXOrg Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The WebXOrg Window( the actual program ) consists of four main parts:

This area will display the current INI or BookMark file you are working with.

This Menu option will open the settings notebook for the program. The settings
notebook has five pages as follows:

When checked the program will ask if you are sure you want to exit when you go
to exit the program.

When checked the program will change your WebExplorer INI file so that the Main
WebPage WebExplorer Organizer creates will automacticaly load when WebExplorer
is started. This is the default and desired settings in most cases.

When checked the program will change your NetScape/2 INI file so that the Main
WebPage WebExplorer Organizer creates will automacticaly load when NetScape/2
is started.

is added to a WebPage.

current WebExplorer INI file you are working on and lose all changes made to

when you drop another WebSite onto it to perform an update/replace operation.

When checked the program will ask you if you want to build the WebPages when
you exit the program if they have changed at all.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.2.3.8. Build WebPages on exit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
When checked the program will automatically build the WebPages when you exit
the program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.2.4. Register ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Allows a registered user to enter their registration code to register the
program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.2.5. About ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Displays the name, version, and copyright information about the program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3. Web Sites Area ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This area displays all of the QuickList entries for the currently opened INI
file. A hashed box next to a QuickList entry means that it has already been
added to a WebPage. Clicking your right mouse button over this area will bring
up the following menu:

Sort
Delete WebSite

Exit
Warning: When you perform an update INI file, the current INI file you are
workin on is overwritten with any and all changes you have made. So if you
have deleted a Site without moving it to a WebPage and performing a Build
WebPages you will lose that WebSite.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3.1. Open ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Allows you to open any other WebExplorer INI files you might have. Below it you
will find a list of the last five WebExplorer INI files you have used, if any.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3.2. Load WebExplorer INI File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Allows you to load or reload WebExplorer's INI file, but will cause all changes
to be lost.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3.3. Load NetScape/2 BookMark File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Allows you to load or reload NetScape's BookMark file.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3.4. Update INI file ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will rewrite the current INI file you are editing. This needs to be done
if you want your changes to be saved. These changes include deleting web sites
and/or sorting the QuickList entries.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3.5. Sort ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will sort the QuickList entires. They can be sorted either ascending or
descending. You must perform an UPDATE INI FILE for this change to be
permanent.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3.6. Delete WebSite ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will delete the current web site from the QuickList. You must perform an
UPDATE INI FILE for this change to be permanent.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3.7. Settings ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Will open the settings notebook to the WebSite's settings page.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3.8. Exit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Exits the program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4. Web Pages Area ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This area displays all of the pages you have setup to organize your web sites.
Clicking you right mouse button will bring a certain menu depending on what you
are currently on. All options for all of the WebPages menus are listed below:

Delete WebPage
Warning: When you perform a Build WebPages, the current WebPage files are

Exits the program.

Allows you to reload the WebPages, but will cause all changes to be lost.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4.3. Build WebPages ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will build the WebPages you just setup. Also it edits your INI file so
that the next time you open WebExplorer the Main WebPage will be shown, which
will list the Sub WebPages, which will contain your WebSites. Then you can
click on the Sub WebPage and goto the that page and select the WebSite you
want.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4.4. Rename WebPage ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This allows you to rename your WebPages. You must perform a BUILD WEBPAGES
forthis change to be permanent. Must have a name, cannot be lefted blank.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4.5. Add new WebPage ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will add another WebPage to be used to store your web sites in. You must
perform a BUILD WEBPAGES for this change to be permanent. Must have a name.

The sort works like this: It will first sort the WebPages, then within the
WebPages it will sort the WebSites. They can be sorted either ascending or
descending. You must perform a BUILD WEBPAGES for this changes to be
permanent.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4.7. Expand all ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will completely expand the Main WebPage's tree.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4.8. Collapse all ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will completely collapse the Main WebPage's tree.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4.9. Settings ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Will open the settings notebook to the WebPage's settings page.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4.10. Delete WebSite ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will delete the WebSite from a WebPage. You must perform a BUILD WEBPAGES
for this change to be permanent.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4.11. Delete WebPage ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This will delete the WebPage and ALL WebSites stored within it. You must
perform a BUILD WEBPAGES for this change to be permanent.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Getting started ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Now that we have an understanding of the program's window layout lets get
started. I am going to list the steps needed to setup a few pages to get you
used to how the program works.
1. First start the program.
2. Right-Click on the Main WebPage Folder in the WebPages area.
3. Click on Rename WebPage.
4. When Dialog appears type in your name for your Main WebPage.
5. Click OK.
6. Right-Click anywhere within the WebPages area.
7. Click on Add New WebPage.
8. When Dialog appears type in the name of the Sub WebPage.
i.e. OS/2 Pages
9. Click OK.
10. Repeat steps 6 - 9 a couple of times.
11. Now find a WebSite from the WebSite area you would like to add to the
first Sub WebPage.
12. Drag that WebSite to the Sub WebPage Folder and drop it in.
13. Repeat steps 11 - 12 for a few WebSites.
14. Right-Click on the Main WebPage folder.
15. Click on Build WebPages.
Extra things to try
Your WebPages are now built. Now start WebExplorer and you'll see your new way
of Surfing the World Wide Web. To return to your Main WebPage all you have to
do is click on the Home icon on the WebExplorer ToolBar.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5.1. Extra things to try ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
1. Drag a WebSite from one WebPage to another WebPage. You have moved the
location of that WebSite to the other WebPage.
2. Drag a WebSite from either the WebSites or WebPages area onto a WebSite
in a WebPage. You have now either Updated or Replaced that WebSite with
the WebSite you just dropped onto it.

Bugs Fixed:
When doing a Build WebPages all of the old WebPages were not
being deleted, which in certian cases would cause the pages to
mess up.
Handles High ASCII characters properly now
After the initial install and first use the program would not
load afterwards and get in an endless loop.

The WebPages's icons are now being set to the proper size so
that they do not take up so much space when loading.
Create desktop object added to install program.
Now accepts WebExplorer's URL Objects from the desktop

Bugs Fixed:
WebExplorer "Load at startup?" not being set to true. Resulting
in the Main WebPage not being displayed when starting
WebExplorer.
No context-menu being displayed in WebSite area when no websites

Handling of directories resulting in problems locating Icons and
WebPage if the main directory's name is renamed.
Bug with the Vrobj.dll and Pmmerge.dll resulting in dialog
messages and prompts shrinking to the point were they are
unreadable.
Problem with not un-locking files.
Crashing when dropping URL Objects from the desktop. This

Problem when directly editing a WebPage Name and the letter 'O'

INTERNATIONAL LICENSE AGREEMENT
This is a legal agreement between you, the end user, ONG SoftWare, and Andrew
A. Phillips.
ONG SoftWare and Andrew A. Phillips's WebExplorer Organizer Version 1.x (the
"software") is licensed by ONG SoftWare for use only on the terms and
conditions set forth in this document. Please read this license agreement
carefully. If you download or run the software you are indicating to ONG
SoftWare that you accept and agree to be bound by the terms set forth in this
document. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this
document, you agree that you will not download or run the software and we thank
you for your interest.
1. Grant of License The software is not public domain software nor is it free
software. The use of the software, except for an initial 30-day trial period,
requires registration. Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use
the software on a 30-day trial basis for the purpose of determining whether the
software is appropriate for their needs. After this period, you must either
register the software or remove it from your computer system. The use of
unlicensed copies of the software outside of the initial 30-day trial period by
any person, firm, business, corporation, government agency or other entity is
strictly prohibited.
Each purchase of WebExplorer Organizer comes with only one license. Each single
user license grants you the right to use one copy of the software on a single
terminal connected to a single computer (ie. CPU). A licensed user may use the
software on different computers, but will not use the software on more than one
computer at the same time.
2. Grant of Network License. A site license permits a company with multiple
users to use several copies of the software on stand-alone computers, or to use
a single copy over a network. A computer network is any combination of two or
more terminals that are electronically linked and capable of sharing the use of
a single software program. A licensed computer network is a computer network
for which you have acquired and dedicated at least one version of the software
(which can run alone or as a network server). If you wish to arrange for a site
license, please contact ONG software for more details.
3. Copyright. The software is owned by ONG SoftWare and Andrew A. Phillips. The
software is protected by copyright laws. All rights are reserved. You may
either (a) make two copies of the software solely for backup or archival
purposes provided that you reproduce all copyright and other proprietary
notices that are on the original copy of the software provided to you, or (b)
transfer the software to a single hard disk provided you keep the original
solely for backup or archival purposes. You may not copy the written materials
accompanying the software.
4. Other Restrictions. You may not rent or lease the software. You may not
reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works from the
software. Use of the software for any military- or arms production related
purpose, whether direct or indirect, is strictly prohibited and will constitute
a breach of the license granted under this Agreement.
5. Termination. A breach of any term or condition in this Agreement by a
licensed user will entitle ONG SoftWare to terminate the license granted
hereby. Upon notice of termination from ONG SoftWare, you agree that you will
immediately cease the use of the software, remove it from your computer system
and destroy any software disks or manuals acquired from ONG SoftWare.
6. Dual Media software. If the software package contains both 3.5" and 5.25"
disks, then you may use only the disks appropriate for your single-user
computer or licensed computer network. You may not use the other disks on
another computer or computer network, or loan, rent or transfer them to another
user.
SOFTWARE LIMITED WARRANTY
To the original customer purchasing this product in the first instance only,
ONG SoftWare provides the following warranties:
THE ABOVE WARRANTIES ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER
EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. NO ORAL OR WRITTEN
INFORMATION OR ADVICE GIVEN BY ONG SOFTWARE, ITS EMPLOYEES, DISTRIBUTORS,
DEALERS OR AGENTS WILL INCREASE THE SCOPE OF THE ABOVE WARRANTIES OR CREATE ANY
NEW WARRANTIES. SHOULD THE SOFTWARE PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE RISK OF
PAYING THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR CORRECTION AND ANY
INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT WILL ONG SOFTWARE BE LIABLE
FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF
BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION AND THE
LIKE) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR THE INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT EVEN IF ONG
SOFTWARE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
LIMITATION OF REMEDIES
REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ANY REMEDY SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT FAILS OF ITS
ESSENTIAL PURPOSE, IN NO EVENT WILL ONG SOFTWARE OR ANY OF ITS EMPLOYEES,
DISTRIBUTORS, DEALERS OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY SPECIAL,
